SomaYoga

SomaYoga is a form of therapeutic yoga which blends somatic repatterning processes and practices with therapeutic and classical yoga.

Individualized  Yoga Classes

One-on-one yoga sessions are enjoyable, efficient and effective.  Benefits include: practices tailored to your needs and goals, assistance developing a home practice, space to ask questions, and lessons on your schedule. Traditionally, yoga was taught one-on-one and is still preferable for beginners, those desiring extra time, support, and privacy, or students wishing to dive deeper into practice.

Duos, Trios and Quartets can also be accommodated.

Therapeutic Yoga

While yoga offers a myriad of health benefits, therapeutic yoga applies the intention of healing, well-being, and integration thru the adaptation and application of yoga techniques.  It helps those facing challenges at any level - physical, emotional, psychological, or spiritual - reduce and manage symptoms, improve mood, clarity and attitude, increase vitality, and restore balance.  The foundation of therapeutic yoga is an understanding of the human being as an integrated mind-body system in constant development and transition that functions optimally when all aspects of being are in balance.

Somatics

Somatics is a form of neuromuscular re-education that teaches individuals to feel and move muscles more efficiently and effectively. Using small motions that are gentle and mindful, somatic practices increase range of motion, decrease tension and may decrease muscular pain by bringing awareness to unconscious areas of the body.

Therapeutic Yoga Blends:

  • Restorative Yoga (supported poses)
  • Gentle Yoga (slow, gentle movements)
  • Guided visualization
  • Breath awareness
  • Energy work
  • Pelvic floor awareness
  • Deep Relaxation
  • Somatics and SomaYoga
