Integrality
I am mother and yoga teacher.
For as long as I can remember, I've been interested in health, human potential and living well. This curiosity has seeded explorations in nutrition, fitness, dance, psychology, philosophy, religion, the arts, natural and integrated health care, somatics, energy medicine, Ayurveda, and yoga.
I first used yoga postures during pregnancy as gentle exercise to stay limber. However, my real connection with the practice of yoga emerged after the hospice journey and death of my daughter. Too physically depleted and emotionally overwhelmed to exercise, I observed that days that started on my yoga mat - even the days when all I could do was a few gentle floor positions - were better days. On those days I noticed better concentration, more energy, easier moods, more presence, more peace and less pain of all varieties. During that period of deep vulnerability, I learned to listen to my body, be mindful of my energy, and care for myself.
As I grew stronger, I became curious about the ancient traditions and modern science that explained why the simple practices I was using were so deeply healing. I began to study formally and found that I loved teaching and supporting others in their quests for well-being, energy, clarity, and transformation. The path of sharing stories, re-inhabiting our bodies, and finding freedom from tension and pain is connecting, satisfying, and joyful. I am passionate about that path, and I look forward to sharing it with you.
